Google Play™ Carrier Billing FAQs

Google Play Carrier Billing lets you purchase up to $300 (per mobile account / bill cycle) in digital media (e.g., virtual online games, music, e-books, etc.) using your Android™ device from Google Play™ Store and have those purchases charged to your Verizon Wireless bill. It's an easy, convenient and secure method for purchasing media goods on your device without having to provide an online merchant with your credit card information.

Only digital or virtual goods are eligible for Google Play Carrier Billing, not physical goods like clothes or groceries. Examples of digital goods include:

• Apps and content, such as online games and music
• Virtual in-app items and goods such as virtual currency and reports
  
• Virtual goods from social networks
• Digital subscriptions for e-books, movies, videos, and magazines
  

Review the eligibility requirements for Google Carrier Billing purchase.

To use Google Play Carrier Billing:

• You must be using an Android device.
• You must be on a monthly consumer calling plan, in good standing.
• Your account needs to be a personal account. Corporate, government or employee accounts aren't eligible.
• Prepaid accounts are not eligible for Google Play Carrier Billing.
  
• Your wireless account should not be based in New Mexico.
• You must be a registered user of My Verizon.
• The line on which you want to use Carrier Billing must be able to receive text messages, and can't have the purchases and gifting blocks feature turned on.
  
  Note: Go to the Block and Unblock Services page in My Verizon to make sure you don't have text messages or purchases and gifting blocked.
• There's a $300 limit per mobile account per bill cycle.
• Only digital or virtual goods are eligible (e.g., virtual online gaming, music, e-books, etc.).

Google Play Carrier Billing charges and the breakdown of any applicable taxes for each purchase will be displayed in My Verizon on the View media & app purchases page:

Note: During the Google Play checkout process the taxable amount may be included in the purchase price or it may be displayed separately. Regardless of how the applicable taxes are displayed during the Google Play checkout process, the purchase price and any applicable taxes will be presented separately in the Purchases from Other Vendors section of your Verizon Wireless bill.

You don't need to sign up for this service; it is automatically available to all eligible customers. Please refer to Google's Set up & pay using carrier billing page for more information.

If carrier billing is a payment option for your purchase, you can select it from one of the available options. Refer to Google's Set up & pay using carrier billing page for further instructions.

1. Open Google Play Store
2. Tap the menu icon at the top left
3. Tap My Account
4. Change payment method to Verizon Wireless billing

You can block Carrier Billing on the Manage Blocks page in My Verizon. If you have multiple lines, select the one you want to block purchases on.

To activate the block:

1. Scroll to the Purchases section.
2. Check the Block Purchases and Gifting box.
3. Click Continue.
4. A pop-up window will appear to confirm that the changes were made to your account. Click OK.

1. Open the Google Play Store app on your Android device.
2. Tap the Navigation Menu icon.
3. Tap Redeem.
4. Enter the code: VZMOVIE
5. Tap Redeem.
6. You can rent a movie immediately by tapping Continue, or come back later and follow the steps below.
7. Select Verizon Wireless billing at checkout on your Android device to get your discount.

Note: Discount code must be redeemed by February 7, 2016.

1. Open the Google Play Store app on your Android device.
2. Search for a movie.
3. Tap Rent HD or Rent SD.
4. Select Verizon Wireless billing at checkout on your Android device to get your discount.

Note: Movie rental must be purchased by June 30, 2016

1. Open the Play Movies & TV app on your Android device, or visit play.google.com/movies.
2. Tap the Navigation Menu icon.
3. Tap My Library.
4. Watch your movie on any Android device or on the web. Enjoy your movie on the big screen through Chromecast™, Nexus™ Player, Android TV™ or Roku.

Note: After renting a movie, a user has 30 days to start viewing their rental. Once a rental has been initiated a user has 48 hours to complete viewing.

Customers should contact the merchant as described in Google's confirmation email at the time of purchase.
